A Creative Christian Testimony: Destiny Malcom

So, I began attending church, singing, and writing my own songs from the age of 8/9. At 15 I began touring the Midlands with my groups and doing concerts with the worship team, it was amazing! I definitely knew I loved Jesus, understood what He did for me, and had this overwhelming sense of worship for Him. I was on fire for Christ and got baptised at 16.  After school I had no desire for university, but  had a passion to learn more about my faith, which is where PEACE (School of Evangelism) came into play. I spent 4 months away from home learning about my faith and sharing it. It was powerful. After this foundational experience, I decided to go to uni, which is where it all started to change! The cares of pre adulting hit me and I became aware that new priorities were sinking in. Nothing like the priorities I had as a 16 year old!

New Life: Born Again

Born again? Huh? What do you mean? This is basically how Nicodemus reacted when Jesus told him that to enter into the kingdom of God we must be born again in John 3. The topic of being born again has been popping up in my mind for a long time now and has come up in conversation with friends during bible study. It has made me think about what it is to truly born-again. God is teaching me something in this season of my life and I am glad to have this opportunity to write about this.

Billy Graham: The Story of a Gospel General – In Memoriam

When dairy farmer William Franklin Graham Sr. and his wife first held their son in the autumn of 1918, little did they imagined that this boy would change the landscape of evangelism of the 20th-century. No; William Franklin Graham Jr. – Billy, for short – only imbibed himself in books, swung on trees like Tarzan and gave out a yell with a thundering voice that the world, many decades later, would hear. Despite being diligently raised in a local Presbyterian church, Graham’s life was not smooth-sailing – in fact, his youth group considered him “too worldly.” He was almost expelled from Bob Jones College – if not for the words of Bob Jones Sr. himself, “You have a voice that pulls. God can use that voice of yours. He can use it mightily.”

God Speaks My Love Language

Heard of The 5 Love Languages? At the moment, my primary languages are Quality Time and Words of Affirmation. It's how I most effectively receive love from others, including God. After reading The Love Languages of God by Gary Chapman, my eyes were opened to the practicality of God's love. It occurred to me, that since He made love, He can be a loving and affectionate God too, not just authority without feelings. It describes how God has love needs that we can meet; yes, He delights in our worship, but why? Because He's a God of Quality Time, and more.

Self Love in Light of The Cross

Self,  Self Love, Selfless

Is it possible to be selfish and selfless as the same time? On the surface, not quite. But then where does self love come in? It’s often said that self love is not selfish, and I agree! Although in the same call for us to love and appreciate ourselves (wholly) we are still called to be selfless. The biblical understanding of selflessness (Galatians 2:20, Mark 8:34) is a denying of self, but note, selflessness is not self harm.
